Meet Organizational Member: Fit 4 the Cause
The Basics!

Founder & Executive Director
Tell us about yourself
After years of corporate leadership, I had the opportunity to embrace physical fitness when our kids moved out of the house. After a lifetime of stress, undisciplined diets and a lack of exercise, I learned first hand how daily workout regimes influence healthier lifestyles. Noting the weight loss, along with improved mental and physical health I wanted to share this gift with others. Converting to a passionate fitness professional, I now hold several certifications from the American Council on Exercise while studying for an additional certification in Senior Functional Fitness. After ascertaining our local community, it became clear that fitness and nutrition education was not accessible to everyone. Fit 4 The Cause began filling this void.
What is your organization’s mission?
In response to the healthcare crisis and as a preventative measure, Fit 4 the Cause provides licensed fitness professionals and nutrition educators for low-income communities. Now in our fourth year of operation, we are serving thousands of at-risk teens, fragile seniors and vulnerable children. Many of our service recipients suffer from disease or injuries and/or live with developmental/intellectual disabilities.
What’s happening at Fit 4 the Cause? Any recent highlights, milestones or upcoming events?
Over the last two years, we served thousands of clients through robust, generous programs. Filling an activity void in Ventura’s poorest districts, we provided fitness programs to both elementary school children and Junior High School teens. Our fastest growing program however is serving young adults with diverse special needs and our longer living seniors. Although our number one priority is providing program services daily for our clients, we need dollars in order to cover the costs. Here is our action-oriented event schedule where everyone can support while having fun and getting fit. Please email cindy@fit4thecause.org or katie@fit4thecause.org with any questions.
