Meet Donor, Kari Coady

A Little About Me 

My passion for helping others combined with the desire to share effective stress management tools, led me to accept a CEO / Executive Director position in 2007 at a nonprofit now known as Breakthroughs International. I enjoy serving and supporting an international community whose goal is to empower others to thrive amidst life’s challenges. When not engaged in work life, I spend time with my husband of 10 years and our pups.

Why I Choose to Give

Honestly, there is so much need in the world, I can’t imagine NOT giving. The nonprofit sector is incredibly challenging. We are expected to produce with much less than the for profit, and are judged more harshly. Our capacity to reach our missions requires us to be healthy organizations who can function well under those stressors. The Center for Nonprofit Leadership made it possible for me to 1) move or organization in the right direction, 2) receive much needed encouragement as a leader, and 3) gain valuable knowledge about best practices and practical ways to implement based on my unique set of circumstances. I would not still be in this role were it not for the decade of assistance and support I received from the Center.

Favorite Aspects

• Knowing where to go when I’m not sure what to do. 
• Getting to be with other leaders and feeling like I’m not alone in my own struggles. 
• Stellar training and education

Why Should others join me as a donor

The world needs the nonprofit sector. It needs it to be healthy, productive, and effective. Many who are drawn to the sector come with huge hearts, and many with little education about the functions behind the scenes. People like me who are leaders and want to help the world just need tools. The Center provides that. Without them, our nonprofit sector doesn’t stand much of a chance. JOIN ME!
