Commencement

California Lutheran University strives to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and its amendments. The University's goal is to provide access to the celebration of the commencement ceremonies to students and guests who request accommodations.

Graduating Students Needing Accommodations

DSS will be able to assist graduating students with accommodation needs like mobility challenges etc. for the Commencement Ceremonies. Students need to communicate to DSS about their disability related needs at least two (2) weeks prior to the ceremony to allow for sufficient time in making needed arrangements.

Guests of the Graduating Students

Guests attending the commencement ceremonies who have disability-related needs for special seating considerations may request tickets to sit in the Accessibility Seating Area.

Accessibility Seating tickets will be issued to the graduating student for any of their guests who need special consideration for seating in the arena. As some accommodations take time, it is highly recommended that the guest, or the graduating student on behalf of the guest, emails commencementtickets@CalLutheran.edu as soon as possible to request accommodations. Cal Lutheran cannot guarantee that the requested accommodation can be met if the request is received less than two (2) weeks prior to the ceremony.

*Accessibility tickets are intended for guests that need them due to a disability related need and possibly another person to assist. There are many guests and a limited number of seats so we will not be able to accommodate for those people who are capable of sitting in the general seating section.

Guests needing Accessibility Seating tickets on the day of commencement, will need to visit the Accessibility & Reserved Seating Entrance (Regal’s Gate) on the day of commencement to inquire about available tickets.

Please note that tickets are not needed to sit inside the Gilbert Sports and Fitness Center arena (overflow seating).  Guests can watch a live stream of the ceremony while sitting inside with air conditioning.
