International Travel
International travel by University employees or students may involve export control regulations depending on the travel destination and the items, software, and/or technical data that is taken.
When you travel abroad, everything you take is an export, including your laptop, smart phone, and equipment as well as confidential, unpublished, or proprietary information or data.
If you are traveling abroad in your role as a Cal Lutheran employee or student, you must register your trip in the Travel Registry through the Center for Global Engagement. The Travel Registry will automatically send your travel information to the Research Protections Office, and your travel will be reviewed to ensure it complies with U.S. export regulations.
