Counseling and Psychological Services is excited to announce workshops designed to support our student employees. Whether you're a student employee or just eager to enhance your skills, these sessions can help you learn more about some important topics. All students are eligible to attend and please sign up using your CLU email address.
Note: If you are attending any of these trainings as a student employee please check with your supervisor before attending about compensation expectations (if you can get paid for attending).
QPR: Suicide Prevention Training
BECOME A TRAINED GATEKEEPER

LIGHT LUNCH TO BE PROVIDED
QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer. Trained Gatekeepers will learn how to recognize the warning signs of suicide, learn how to offer hope, and learn how to refer for help as a means of suicide prevention. Max registrants for QPR trainings is 25. Please contact annaguerin@CalLutheran.edu for any food accommodations, sensitivities, restrictions, etc.
As a student employee, you will learn how to support others who may be experiencing or showing clues of experiencing distress or suicidal ideation.

***Additional clinician will be on-site during the training for any emotional support that is needed or requested by attendees.

During this presentation, you will learn about allyship for diverse SOGIE (SOGIE stands for sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.)
Includes exploration of sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression affirmative and inclusive language.
Defines allyship and pathways to allyship.

SUPPORTING STUDENTS IN DISTRESS
