Service and purpose through experiential learning
The Center for Academic Service-Learning (CASL) promotes and supports the integration of service-learning into the Cal Lutheran curriculum. Service-learning exposes students to real-world applications of their course work and gives them the opportunity to discover their purpose through community service and civic engagement.
What We Do
Provide resources for faculty
to build service-learning into their courses and successfully secure funding to facilitate experiential learning and field work.
Encourage students to enroll
in service-learning classes and continue their engagement with our community partners to the advantage of their future outlook.
Inform community partners
about the benefits to their organization of participating and connect with faculty for students to learn by doing.
