“I’ve never completed a piece!” How can I be a writer and never finish a story?” “I’ll never be a writer!” I’ve repeated these sentences tens of hundreds of times in my writing process.
Maybe you, as someone who also loves writing, have done the same thing. Maybe you’re lost on how to continue a chapter. Maybe you’re not studying writing; you’re studying Biology, Business, Communications — like myself — and you’re unsure how to utilize your ability. Maybe you feel incapable, not that good; maybe it’s writer’s block.
Writing, as enthralling as it is, can be difficult. But with the right kind of support, it can feel swift and enjoyable.
That’s what we aim to do as part of the Writing Center’s new Creative Writing group: a group of people who also have these issues, and ask themselves these endless questions. As a writer, you’ll be able to work with other people feeling lost in the process of creating a story, all with the aim of completing a piece of work you feel happy with!
We’d like to help you express yourself, no matter who you are, because writing is an expression of value; of life, and sometimes, putting life into words can use an extra bit of help.

Graduate writing groups are open to all Cal Lutheran graduate students. There are normally 3 to 4 people in each group based on the programs the students are in — education, management, pyschology, etc. Students may come to The Writing Center with agroupalready assembled or they may send individual requests through email to be placed in a writing group.
