This project explores how Costco, one of the largest retailers, addresses climate issues. The company developed the Climate Action Plan in 2020 and currently highlights progress on topics such as governance and reporting and Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions. To address Scope 1-3 emissions, Costco created Operations and Merchandising Action plans. The Action Plan mainly focuses on energy supply, energy efficiency, refrigeration, electrification, design and site selection, oversight, and employee education.
