In times of global challenges such as climate change and environmental degradation, the European Union (EU) has introduced the EU Taxonomy to support climate change mitigation measures, such as expanding alternative energy sources. Our case study analyzes conflict management and negotiation strategies between the EU and Austria following the EU’s decision to include nuclear energy in the Taxonomy. The case and role-play video provide different perspectives about reaching climate targets by including nuclear energy as a green-labeled resource.
