LGBTQ+ Inclusivity in Education

LGBTQ+ youth are at higher risk of developing chronic stress, depression, and anxiety than their non-LGBTQ+ counterparts as a result of stigma-related prejudice and discrimination. Yet, educators and school staff feel unequipped and incompetent in working with sexual minority youth. California schools can lead the way in helping ensure people are guaranteed peace and prosperity while reducing discrimination by omission. This project dives into the historical progress California has made to pave the way for equality in education, as well as the ways in which schools can improve.
