About
Patrick has over thirty-four years of professional work experience in both public accounting and private industry accounting. Patrick’s professional work experience is broad, holding positions from staff accountant through CFO in industries including technology, consumer products, distribution, financial services, and education. Patrick has worked for both publicly traded and privately held companies ranging from startup companies to large international companies. For the two years prior to joining California Lutheran University he was a partner in a national CFO consulting firm which provided services to owners of privately held businesses.
Patrick received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles and his Masters of Business Administration from California Lutheran University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant. He is a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Patrick has been an adjunct professor for over 20 years teaching various accounting and business courses. Patrick has taught courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level including Financial, Managerial, Cost and Intermediate Accounting and Ethics for the Accounting Professional. Patrick began teaching at California Lutheran University as an adjunct professor in spring 2016 and joined the faculty as a Lecturer in the fall of 2017 teaching various accounting courses in the undergraduate program.
Patrick draws from his years of experience often to bridge classroom learning to applications in the professional work environment. He incorporates a strong emphasis on ethics in all of the accounting courses he teaches; stressing the need for honesty and integrity in the profession. Patrick is passionate about the subject of accounting and works hard to bring that passion to the classroom. His goal with every accounting course he teaches is to have students arrive at the realization that accounting is not just about numbers but rather it is about communication.

Expertise
Patrick is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California. He keeps his CPA license active by meeting the continuing education requirements. He earned the designation of Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 2012. Patrick is a member of the California Society of CPAs and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is a Board member of Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County serving as a member of the Executive committee, the Finance committee and as Treasurer.
