About
Presently teaching Principles and Techniques in Couples Therapy 542. Professor Maletz is also a clinical supervisor at the campus Community Counseling Center in Westlake Village supervising trainees and interns individually and in group. She has been in private practice for 30 years with a specialization in prenatal, postpartum and parenting. She has been on the staff of both Westlake Community and Charter Hospitals acting as the lead therapist for the Senior Unit at Charter. Professor Maletz has taught seminars on effective communication, effective arguing, parenting and prenatal and postpartum mental health.
Education
Graduated with a B.A. in Psychology from California State University, Long Beach, 1976. Graduated in Counseling Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, 1980. MFT license 1984.
Expertise
Professor Maletz speicalizes in women's issues surrounding the family, predominantly prenatal, postpartum and parenting. She works with couples and families to improve communication, enforce boundaries and reach a healthy homeostasis. She teaches parenting for children ages newborn to young adult. She works cooperatively with family physicians, pediatricians and OB/GYNs in an holistic approach for the patient.
