About
Nancy J. Myers, M.A. has been a professor in the Graduate School of Education at California Lutheran University since 2005. As a faculty member Nancy is actively engaged in teacher preparation, community empowerment and research. Concurrently, since 2008 she has served as the state regional director for the California Reading and Literature Project (CRLP). She is responsible for coordinating high quality professional development in the area of student literacy for teachers in public K-12 schools across Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Kern Counties. This project works heavily with the English Language Learner population and focuses improving low achieving schools. Nancy has also worked in the field of K-6 Public Education for over 20 years. During this time, she has served as a Reading Specialist, Literacy Coach, Multiple Subjects Teacher, Literacy Presenter, Houghton-Mifflin Consultant, and California State Literacy Trainer. The foundation of her work reflects her deep commitment to support the development of teachers and future teachers who value the uncovered potential for every child and who are inspired to provide rich, meaningful and student focused literacy instruction.
