Senior Adjunct Faculty member, Dr. Judith Balcerzak's experience spans over 38 years of clinical practice in the public and private sectors. Joining CLU's Graduate Psychology faculty in 2009, she teaches: Research Analysis and Synthesis; Psychopharmacology; Diagnostic and Therapeutic Interviewing; and Family Violence in the Marriage and Family Therapy Master’s Degree Program.

In 2015, NASW Press released Judith's book: Workplace Bullying: Clinical and Organizational Perspectives. This research based book examines workplace bullying from a variety of sociological and psychological perspectives. Clinical and organizational perspectives provide practical wisdom for professionals committed to addressing, remediating, and preventing this problem. Finally, legilative solutions are offered along with the current status of the Healthy Workplace Bill. (256 Pages, NASW Press, Washington, D.C. ISBN: 978-0-87101-490-0). 

From 2001 to 2009, Judith designed, implemented, and coordinated the Human Services Degree and Certificate Programs at Ventura College, Ventura, CA, where she served as a curriculum development specialist. Dr. Balcerzak oversees doctoral programs in Social Work and in Marriage & Family Therapy at International University for Graduate Studies, in the Eastern Caribbean. Maintaining a private clinical practice in the Ventura County community since 1983, Judith has provided clinical supervision to MFT and LCSW interns, associates, and trainees for over three decades. 

Dr. Balcerzak developed and managed Community First Counseling Center (a 501(c)(3) private non profit program) in Ventura, CA from 2003 to 2013. Her Professional background also includes 15 years in senior health care administration in Ventura County. Born and raised in Michigan, Judith completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Michigan State University and Wayne State University before moving to California in 1980.

Dr. Balcerzak enjoys her musical avocation by singing in the choir at Church of the Foothill (United Church of Christ) in Ventura and in Gold Coast Concert Chorus in Ventura. An avid scuba diver and sailor, Judith divides her time between California and Dominica in the Eastern Caribbean. Dr. Balcerzak's values and background include a deep commitment to human rights and social justice.

Dr. Balcerzak has written several successful grant applications resulting in monetary grants awarded to Community First Counseling Center (2003-2013). Grantors included: Swift Memorial Health Care Fund and Wells Fargo Bank.
