About
Carl Oliver is co-author of Business Ethics: The Path to Certainty. His academic credentials include a B.A. in Psychology from Stanford University, an MBA from California Lutheran University, and both an M.A. in Organization Development and a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems from Fielding Graduate University. He currently serves as a Teaching Fellow at the Banta Center for Business, Ethics, and Society. His research into moral reasoning has been published in the Journal of Organizational Moral Psychology, the Journal of Adult Development, the International Journal of Leadership Studies, online at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics, and online at the Dare Association. His writing on business ethics has appeared in OD Practitioner, BizEd, Compliance & Ethics Professional, and Computer Security Journal. For ten years he trained managers to turn around broken ethics in a Fortune 500 company. For seven years he served as corporate ethics process administrator for a Fortune 100 company. Since 2006 he has been teaching business ethics, corporate social responsibility, organizational behavior, and conflict and communication. For the U.S. Air Force, he served as a special agent, commander of five Air Force units, and as a director, Air Force Office of Speical Investigations. Previously he taught leadership and management at Stanford and served as department chair.
