About
Community leader who presently serves as General Counsel for the Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura and as Counsel for the Housing Authority of the County of Santa Barbara. I have extensive experience in administrative law and process; nonprofit law; litigation; Brown Act; Government Claims Act; unlawful detainers; contracts; real estate transactions – financing, purchases and sales; municipal and planning law; grand juries; public art contracts; Fair Housing Act claims and enforcement; Americans with Disabilities Act; and, other general legal fields.
In addition to service as legal counsel, I have also served as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Ventura and as a hearing officer for the County of Santa Barbara Housing Authority. I have had articles published in the California Bar Association Monthly Journal and in Citations, the monthly publication of the Ventura County Bar Association.
I also speak regularly to resident groups of Public Housing Authorities and presented on the Department of Housing and Urban Development's Rental Assistance Demonstration program at the 2016 Housing California Conference.
In 2017, I was humbled to be awarded the Verna Kagan award by the Ventura County Bar Association for my pro bono work.
