Poetry and Discussion with Kristin George Bagdanov

Poetry and Discussion with Kristin George Bagdanov

Kristin George Bagdanov’s poetry addresses the human encounter with nature in the context of climate catastrophe, toxicity and waste, the body, and extinction. Amy Brady of the Chicago Review of Books has written that, “With glistening intelligence and sensitivity to the natural world, Bagdanov has crafted poems that inspire thoughtful reflection as well as trepidation about the future of the planet.” Bagdanov has published two collections of poetry: Fossils in the Making (Black Ocean Press, 2019) and Diurne (Tupelo Press, 2019), which won the 2019 Sunken Garden Poetry Prize. Her poems have recently appeared in The River Rail, Boston Review, Colorado Review, and Denver Quarterly. She is the senior poetry editor of Ruminate Magazine and a PhD candidate in English at UC Davis. Copies of Bagdanov’s books will be available for sale at the event.
